Julia Koonjy, Junior Analyst
Ms. Koonjy joined Hetherington Group in November 2021. As a Junior Open Source Intelligence Analyst, she is responsible for foundational work in risk assessment and removal, monitoring, and social media/cyber/background investigations for Hg clients. Ms. Koonjy supports senior intelligence analysts by providing OSINT data on people and organizations. She adeptly conducts social media investigations on persons or groups of concern to ensure the welfare and security of Hg’s clients. Ms. Koonjy’s skills include an intrinsic ability to understand, interpret, and summarize large amounts of information in a concise manner.
Prior to joining Hg, Ms. Koonjy completed a Criminology Internship at Lemieux & Associates, where she conducted social media background checks and created pre-surveillance reports. She gained valuable experience in numerous investigative case management systems, including Trackops and CLEAR. Ms. Koonjy is a 2021 graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU), Willimantic and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with a minor in Pre-Law. From 2017-20, she was a member of an intercollegiate field hockey team, serving as Team Captain 2020-21. She is the recipient of the ECSU Scholar-Athlete Award (2020-21) and the Morrell Service Award (2021-21), presented to one student-worker each year for outstanding service to the ECSU Athletic Department.
