Michael Gaynier, Global Research Analyst
Mr. Gaynier joined Hetherington Group in July 2022. As a Global Research Analyst, he is responsible for the collection and expansion of foreign Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and investigations resources. He employs refined research skills to collate and process volumes of open source resources from all corners of the globe. Mr. Gaynier also relies upon sharp research and writing skills to assist Hg’s investigators and analysts in drafting a variety of client- and public-forward documents including data analysis, reports, charts, presentations, and research papers.
Prior to joining Hg, Mr. Gaynier served as the Operations Coordinator at the Port of Edmonds and the Voyage Coordinator at Harley Marine Services, where he served as a diplomatic liaison between customers and the operational crew. In 2017, Mr. Gaynier transitioned into the field of library science, working as a Library Associate at Sno-Isle Libraries and utilizing his OSINT skills through the navigation of public databases to aide patrons’ research needs.
Mr. Gaynier is one of only 100 students to have completed elite training at the OSINT Academy—a collaboration between Dakota State University, the National Centers for Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity, and Hetherington Group. His training included comparative intelligence, dark web analysis, online information gathering, intelligence analysis, and report writing. Mr. Gaynier holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Cedarville University (2010).
