Hetherington Group Announces Four-City Summer OSINT Training Tour

Tour Enables Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Professionals to Learn About the Latest Technology Advances and Professional Opportunities

Wanaque, New Jersey, April 2023 – Hetherington Group (Hg), a consulting, publishing, and training firm that leads in due diligence, corporate intelligence, and cyber investigations by keeping pace with the latest security threats is introducing ‘Ms. Information’ for the 2023 Cyberwarrior Tour to combat mis- and dis-information, which has proliferated since the 2016 U.S. presidential election and became legion amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The cross-country Ms. Information Cyberwarrior Tour is making educational stops in four U.S. cities to train an array of audiences from military and law enforcement agencies to private sector enterprises from May through August. Hg trains more than 8,000 of these investigators and intelligence professionals annually.

Kicking off in Tampa on May 25th, the tour features a rigorous curriculum that will enable Open Source Intelligence Professionals (OSINT) across myriad public and private sector organizations to elevate their awareness of the latest software, job opportunities and surveillance techniques. This will ensure they perform their work leveraging the newest technologies while employing best practices to ensure optimal professionalism and security. The major courses featured on the tour include:

Update on Fee and Free Services

ChatGPT for OSINT

AI is blowing up OSINT, but that doesn’t make OSINT professionals redundant. AI is another arrow in the OSINT quiver that when leveraged properly can be tremendously empowering. As AI services permeate and multiply across the market, OSINT’ers need to understand how to integrate these powerful applications, battle test their results and thoroughly vet this tech for accuracy.

Technical Approaches – Base 64 to Shodan Dorks

Hiding While Watching: Managed Attribution for Everyone

Working with care, learn to keep your footprint at a minimum while you cyber surveil, check in on or research sensitive targets. The OSINT’er approach to managing security must be tightened down, but not overthought.

Opportunities for OSINT’ers

Ready to advance your OSINT career? How can OSMOSIS membership help?  Where are the job opportunities and how can shared resources for career advancement be accessed? What is predicted for the OSINT industry of the future?

“The digital ecosphere is once again at an inflection point,” said Hg founder and president Cynthia Hetherington. “We haven’t seen such impactful and riotous advances in technology since the dot.com bubble settled down in 2000. When the fallout ceased, confidence in the technology market resumed and social media took hold as a dominant information source, supplanting the news media for millions. Hg was there for this revolution, driving education around online intelligence from public databases as well as social media intelligence, now known by the moniker OSINT.

“As we witnessed an all-out battle against misinformation and disinformation amidst the pandemic landscape, it was clearly time for Ms. Information to tour major U.S. cities again,” Ms. Hetherington continued. “Today’s vendor market is rich in quality products to meet the sophisticated needs of OSINT professionals, who are now recognized for their leading-edge capabilities to uncover information pivotal to corporate decision-making, exposing fraud and other criminality while also providing vital security protections across an array of commercial, governmental and private endeavors. The talent and the tech are now aligned to meet an ever-growing client demand. However, to fully participate in the current evolution, OSINT professionals must continuously update their toolkits, and now they will get a little help from Ms. Information on her summer 2023 Cyberwarrior Tour.”

In addition to Tampa, Ms. Information will be making stops in the following cities:

Washington, D.C. | June 23

Chicago | July 27

Seattle | August 3
