Maida brings decades of experience as Corporate Intelligence Strategist & Naval Intelligence Officer to lead Hg’s Intelligence Center

Dennis Maida, Jr(Wanaque, NJ) Hetherington Group (Hg) is pleased to announce Mr. Dennis Maida has been chosen as Manager of Intelligence, a new senior position within the New Jersey-based due diligence, corporate intelligence, and cyber investigations firm. Mr. Maida will be responsible for the development of Hg’s Intelligence Center and day-to-day operations for risk monitoring, threat intelligence, and business and cyber support. As the Manager of Intelligence, he will be tasked with the Intelligence Center’s growth and maturing Hg’s Risk Intelligence program directly related to the security and welfare of clients.

“We are ramping up our cybersecurity intelligence operations to meet the growing needs of our clients in an era where foreign and domestic terrorism comes in the form of extortion, stalking, and cyber-ransom attacks,” stated Hg’s President Cynthia Hetherington. “We chose Dennis Maida to head up our stellar team, because he has an impeccable record in the private and military sectors. His commitment to providing Hg clients with the most robust threat intelligence monitoring and investigative support is one of his greatest assets.”

Fused with an entrepreneurial spirit, Mr. Maida uses his robust, detail-oriented analytical foundation to lead Hg’s team of Intelligence Collectors and Analysts. His refined relationship-building skills enable him to support and encourage his team, as they capture open source intelligence and publicly available information to provide risk intelligence, research, and due diligence support for Hg clients. He will engage his tradecraft—honed over decades—to provide key research and intelligence to Fortune 500 clients, corporate security teams, and C-suite executives.

“The corporate world’s people, technology, and reputation remain the principal targets of the world’s threat actors—be it in the physical or cyber realm,” stated Dennis Maida. “The global pandemic has overwhelmed most global security operations, because COVID-19 shuttered our ‘normalcy.’ Hg’s Intelligence Center serves to be the tactical and, at times, strategic, ‘force multiplier’ for our clients to meet their security challenges. When I speak with a client, I always stress we are dedicated to meet the challenges they face as one team. A multi-dimensional intelligence team is required in today’s environment to ensure near 360-degree global coverage.”

Mr. Maida brings decades of experience, most recently as the Officer in Charge of the Office of Naval Intelligence Training Headquarters Unit. During his military service in the United States Navy and Navy Reserve, he has served in a variety of capacities, including Operations Department Head, where he supervised and guided over 30 intelligence officers and sailors in support of national security production tasking; the Senior Intelligence Officer within the Joint Personnel Recovery Center – Baghdad, and as an Officer in Charge within the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Joint Intelligence Task Force-Combatting Terrorism (JITF-DT).

In the private sector, Mr. Maida served as the Principal Lead of Strategic Cyber Intelligence at the Bank of New York Mellon, where he mitigated exposure to cyber vulnerabilities and drove strategic and geopolitical cyber threat intelligence initiatives. As Team Lead of Strategic Analysis for Boeing, Mr. Maida led the development of strategic objectives designed to provide situational awareness to executive leadership and cross-business-unit stakeholders.

Mr. Maida is committed to giving back to his community. He is the founder of The f/22 Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing veteran suicide while assisting veterans with PTSD through the art of photography. He holds an MA in Cyber Security Policy from the University of Maryland University College and a BA in Political Science from Kean University.
