The year 2020 has certainly been full of unpredictable events: A global pandemic, political divide within the country, and civil unrest in cities to name just a few.
As we get closer to November 3, corporate America and local and federal law enforcement are preparing for potential civil unrest and violence surrounding the upcoming presidential election. There is ongoing concern that protests, rallies, and marches will heighten in many places and cause significant damage or looting of businesses, assault of protesters, or, in extreme cases, death.
Despite polls and pundits, no one can forecast the outcome of this election. We can, however, use predictive intelligence to identify potential risks based on previous incidents and known extremist groups, whose ideologies could portend civil violence in the wake of election results.
