Hg’s Director of Education and Knowledge Management Megan Munoz will be conducting an introductory webinar discussing Online Investigations and Open Source Primer, hosted by the San Francisco Public Defenders and Hg.

Every investigation involves, at some level, social media, and open-source examinations. Covered topics will include best practices in open-source collection, the different types of open source and social media platforms, and the language of this unique investigative world. Participants will learn the types, differences, and jargon of open-source investigations; they will also be able to follow along to conduct open-source research driven by case studies from the industry. Upon completion, participants will understand how to navigate the Internet and social media platforms better for rudimentary online investigations as well as use time and resources more efficiently.
